Fireworks time is here!! I hope that you are all enjoying your 4th of July festivities. The Betts family is taking it easy at home this morning, but we can't wait to watch the fireworks explode tonight!!
I thought that today would be a good day to remind you all about writing in your journal this summer. After today, I bet you could write a great story about your 4th of July. You could even write an acrostic poem using the word FIREWORKS. Don't forget to add your illustration.
How is everyone doing on their Summer Reading Challenge? Have you made a Tic-Tac-Toe to bring back on the first day of school? Remember there are so many ways to be a part of the Summer Reading Challenge that I hope you are taking advantage. Have you been on the Book Mobile yet?? There are so many great books you can read - don't forget to check out a few this summer!!

Today is July 2nd, second graders - it is almost time for camping and fireworks. I thought that I would take a minute today to remind you all of a couple of things for summer. If you remember the last time that we talked, I asked you to be sure to read this summer and practice your math facts. I told you that I hoped you got to relax, play baseball (or softball) and swim this summer too. I hope that you are enjoying all of the fun summer activities even with the high river.
Our softball season is not over yet. We have two more games and a tournament. We have never had a tournament before, so the girls are very excited. I am really enjoying coaching them this year too. It has been a fun season. Well, if you are counting we are at about 40 days until your first day of school. So, I will talk to you really soon!!
